Robert Byron Osborne, MD
Robert Osborne, MD, is a board-certified urologist with nearly 34 years of experience in the field. He has been treating patients in the Charlottesville, Virginia, area for a wide range of conditions, from kidney stones to bladder cancer, since joining Urological Associates in 1990.
Dr. Osborne completed his undergraduate studies in biology in 1980 after graduating from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. With a passion for helping others, he quickly enrolled in the Medical College of Virginia, earning his medical doctorate in 1985. Dr. Osborne went on to undertake his surgical and urological training at the same school, completing his residencies and an internship just five years after graduation.
In July 1990, Dr. Osborne joined Urological Associates, where he ultimately took over as the practice’s president. He was certified by the American Board of Urology in 1992 and recertified 10 years later.
Today, Dr. Osborne is an integral part of the Charlottesville medical community as a well-respected urology specialist. He has a number of clinical interests, including benign prostate hyperplasia, bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, kidney stones, and prostate cancer. Like his colleagues, Dr. Osborne’s goal is to treat patients to the highest quality care in a friendly, professional environment with the latest diagnostic testing and advanced treatment techniques.
Outside of the office, Dr. Osborne lives with his beautiful family in Keswick, where he is an avid golfer.
Julian C. Fagerli, MD
Julian C. Fagerli, MD, is a board-certified urologist treating patients with expert care throughout the Charlottesville, Virginia, community, where he works at Urological Associates. With 24 years of experience, he joined the practice in 2000 and remains committed to staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques and advanced technology in the urologic field.
Dr. Fagerli graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, before earning his medical doctorate from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. He later underwent general surgery training at West Virginia University School of Medicine, followed by four years of residency with the Department of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Since completing his residency, Dr. Fagerli’s urologic clinical interests have only grown over the years. In addition to treating urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and bladder cancer, Dr. Fagerli is trained in prostate laser surgery, Botox® therapy for urinary incontinence, overactive bladder treatments, and UroLift® for enlarged prostate.
Dr. Fagerli and his family are happy to call Western Albemarle County their home. When he is not working with patients, Dr. Fagerli, or “Corky” as he’s called at home, enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife, Nicole, and their two beautiful daughters, Anna and Caroline.
Mark Passarella, MD
Mark Passarella, MD, is a board-certified urologist with more than 20 years of experience. He currently treats patients throughout the Charlottesville, Virginia, community at Urological Associates, where he has been practicing since 2003.
Dr. Passarella graduated from the University of Virginia in 1992 and went on to earn a coveted position at Georgetown University, where he received a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics. His interest in medicine grew throughout his master’s studies, so Dr. Passarella ultimately enrolled in the prestigious university’s medical program, from which he graduated in 1997.
Upon graduation, Dr. Passarella decided to specialize in urology, pursuing further surgical and urological training at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. During his time at Tulane University, Dr. Passarella was chosen to receive extensive laparoscopic training from one of the school’s leading physicians. Two years after bringing his talent and expertise to Urological Associates, he was certified by the American Board of Urology.
Throughout his long career, Dr. Passarella has acquired a broad range of clinical interests, including erectile dysfunction, bladder cancer, laparoscopy, kidney stones, vasectomy, and prostate cancer. He is always searching for new treatment techniques and state-of-the-art medical technology to train in to provide his patients with the highest quality care possible.
Outside of the office, Dr. Passarella enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their 3 children, Bradley, Elizabeth, and Cameron, at their home in Charlottesville.
